This was kind of a simple throw away effect I decided to keep.  It began as a simple manually created particle explosion in Lightwave which in itself was rather uninteresting.  However after playing with it in After Effects for a while I came up with what you see below.  I think its kind of Hypnotising,  It was done some time around 1997.
